Tea Tree Oil is one of the first essential oils that I got to know. For me it was a cure-all remedy for nearly everything in my college dorm days. This oil has antimicrobial properties that help to minimize all kinds a of nasty bacteria. Now its a staple in my Beauty Routine, Medicine Chest, and First Aid Kit. Here are the Top 7 Tea Tree Oil Uses and how you should use tea tree oil in your daily life.
- When a Zit Pops Up – Mix 5 Drops in 4 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera Gel and apply after cleansing your face.
- Itchy Scalp – Add a few drops to your shampoo while its in your hand before sudsing up.
- Athlete’s Foot – Stop Athlete’s Foot with 1 oz. coconut oil and ¼ oz tea tree oil followed by and Epsom salt bath with 10 drops of tea tree oil. You can also do this for stinky feet from walking around NYC all day.
- Cleaning – Mix one gallon of water with 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil to wipe down counters, tables, showers, floors or any other surface. Shake mixture before use. You can also use 2 tsp of tea tree oil to 2 cups of water in a spray bottle to cut through mold and mildew.
- Bruises & Bug Bites – Rub tea tree oil directly onto bruises or bug bites. I bruise easily and have always used a tea tree oil to clear them up faster.
- Canker Sores, Cold Sores & Warts – Apply a tea tree oil dipped cotton ball or cotton swab directly to the infected area twice a day. This little known remedy for those suffering from genital warts or canker sores. It stings at first but shows some of the fastest results in nixing the nasties.
- Cuts – Use for minor scratches, scrapes and cuts only! Use on a serious cut can lead to serious complications. Clean the cut and dab with a tea tree oil cotton ball to help eliminate bacteria.
