Herbs for Love & Relationships

We are always working on our relationships with others. It’s a continuous cycle that never ends, even if we lived alone in a forest we’d still need to foster our relationships with the animals and Mother Nature. Communication is the #1 element for any strong relationship. I’ve included “Kitchen Witch” Herbs that are already part of your kitchen spice cabinet. Here is a list of (some) herbs for Communication, Love, and Relationships:

Communication

  • Sage
  • Hyssop
  • Mint
  • Orris Root
  • Basil
  • Cinnamon
  • Thyme

Love

  • Basil
  • Catnip
  • Daisy
  • High John
  • Mullein
  • Poppy Seeds
  • Periwinkle

Relationships

  • Rose Buds or Petals
  • Chili Pepper
  • Catnip
  • Cardamom
  • Red Clover
  • Rosemary
  • Lavender

I like to use herbs while I’m cooking and think about the traditional meanings and folk associations with them. Any herb that I can ingest stays in my kitchen and in my tea apothecary just off my kitchen. As the herbs loose their potency and aren’t good for cooking I move them to my box of curiosities along with the rest of the roots and herbs that are not for ingesting. This is the box that holds the herbs for scent! Incense blends, potpuri, and sachets.

What herbs do you have in your collection?
